Linda Andrews was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and remembers being interested in art at a very early age. Armed with her crayons, she felt she was already destined to express her view of the universe through the eyes of an artist. Especially when it came to Little Lulu whom she re-created on the back of every envelope and scrap of paper she could find.

Linda studied advertising and graphic design at the Ontario College of Art and Design. After graduation,
she spent many years in the advertising business, working as an art director and graphic designer, while still pursuing her view of the universe through fine art, which by this time had begun to take on a surreal style.

Her interest in marine art began when she was commissioned to paint a copy of a tall ship from a photograph. When she actually saw these beautiful, timeless vessels moored in Toronto Harbour,
she was hooked.

When asked why she paints both surreal art and
marine art, her answer is, ‘the surreal comes from the complexities of my psyche and my marine art provides me with a sense of peace and tranquility.”

Over the years, Linda has participated in many group exhibitions including shows at Gallery 306, Gallery 401,
3 Galleries, Alexander Gallery and This Ain't the Rosedale Library in Toronto. She was also part of a group show entitled, "Passages: Views of the Halifax Harbour” at the Argyle Gallery http://www.argylefa.com
in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Argyle Gallery continues to represent Linda and has a selection of her marine art.

Today, Linda lives in Toronto with her English Pekingese named Bentley. In addition to painting,
Linda does freelance graphics and website design.
